ABBYY FineReader can be installed on the same computer an unlimited number of times without re-activation. However, if major changes are made to the system (i.e. Reformatting the hard drive, re-installation of the operating system, etc.), an additional activation may be required. The Corporate version of ABBYY FineReader 11, which I tested, expands on the Professional version by including a hot-folder feature that lets you simply drop files into a folder that you designate.
- Your first and last name
- The name of your company or organization (if applicable)
- Your telephone number (or fax or e-mail)
- The serial number of your ABBYY FineReader package or support ID. Support ID is a unique identifier of the serial number, which contains information about your license and computer. To view your support ID, click Help > About… > License Info.
- Build number (click Help > About… and look up the Build field)
- A general description of your problem and the full text of the error message (if there was one)
- The type of your computer and processor
- The version of your Windows operating system
- Any other information you consider important
You can gather some of the above information automatically:
- On the Help menu, click About….
- In the About ABBYY FineReader dialog box, click the System Info… button.
A window will open displaying some of the above information.
